Abstract

The study explored an interesting aspect of education: how the way teachers communicate can really shape the learning atmosphere in public elementary schools in Davao Del Norte. The researchers aimed to uncover the link between teachers' communication styles and the experiences students have in the classroom. They carefully selected 115 public elementary teachers using a method that ensures a fair representation and conducted a survey to gather a variety of insights. The results were promising. Most teachers demonstrated strong communication skills, and students reported feeling positively about their classroom environments. One of the key findings was the clear connection between the way teachers interacted with their students and the quality of learning experiences those students had. Every detail mattered— how teachers balanced being formidable yet supportive, the praise and encouragement they offered, their non-verbal cues, the empathy and friendliness they exhibited, and how effectively they managed their classrooms. All of these factors played significant roles in creating a positive learning environment. Based on these insights, the study recommended that officials from the Department of Education and school administrators join forces to create programs that improve teacher communication practices. By working together, they could cultivate an even more enriching learning environment for students. Additionally, the researchers encouraged future studies to explore these dynamics further, suggesting that researchers consider other factors and methods to provide an even deeper understanding of this important topic.
